Setup

Your workspace. Now on your phone.

Install the connector from npm, build the phone app from source, and pair them. Then pick up your work wherever you are.

1. Install the connector

Install the connector from npm on each computer you want on your phone. It needs Node.js 24 or later.

npm install -g @dashup/connector

The connector runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

2. Sign in

Create a Dashup account or use an existing one. Use the same account in the mobile app.

3. Pair your phone

Run the walkthrough and scan its QR code with the Dashup app. The first time, confirm your account in the terminal, then choose whether Dashup keeps running in the background and starts when you sign in.

4. Run the mobile app

Use the native iOS or Android shell in apps/mobile. iOS needs macOS and Xcode; Android needs the Android SDK. Follow the repository setup notes for the native toolchain.

pnpm ios
# or
pnpm android

5. Open a project and receive an alert

Once paired, the connector discovers supported saved projects and threads on that computer and delivers encrypted updates to your phone. If you kept it in the terminal rather than the background, start it again after a restart:

dashup watch

In another terminal, list your projects, then use a project ID in the alert command. Replace PROJECT_ID below with that ID. The connector encrypts the alert before it leaves your computer.

dashup projects
dashup alert --project PROJECT_ID --title "Dashup is connected"

Know what your connector can see

Saved Zed and VS Code histories are read-only. Attach an ACP proxy for live conversation and approval controls. Use doctor to inspect editor discovery on your computer.
