Do you need Dashup?
Maybe not. If you only use Claude Code with a Claude plan, or Codex through the ChatGPT desktop app, the remote that comes with your plan may be all you need. Here’s where Dashup differs.
Claude Remote Control
Comes with Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, and covers Claude Code well: approvals, questions, diffs, model switching, push alerts, and starting sessions on your computers.
It doesn’t work with API keys, Bedrock, Google Cloud Agent Platform, Foundry or gateways, Zero Data Retention and HIPAA organisations can’t enable it, and Anthropic stores the transcript while it’s connected. Dashup is for when you sign in another way, run other agents too, or want a relay that can’t read your sessions.
Codex Remote
Comes with ChatGPT. From the ChatGPT app you can start and continue chats, approve commands, answer questions and review diffs on a Mac or Windows PC running the ChatGPT desktop app.
You can’t set it up from the Codex CLI or the IDE extension, and Linux isn’t among its hosts. Dashup is for when you use the CLI, work on Linux, or run other agents too.
Happy
Free, open source and end-to-end encrypted, with Claude Code, Codex and more. You start your agent through Happy, from its desktop app or the happy command.
Dashup is for when you’d rather keep starting agents your usual way, in a terminal, Zed or VS Code, and follow them from your phone.
Kilo Mobile and Junie Remote mode
Kilo already has iOS and Android apps for its agents, and Junie can continue a running CLI session in a browser. You may already have the remote you need.
Dashup adds the shared inbox across agents and paired-device encryption. Its Kilo integration follows the local daemon. Its Junie controls apply to sessions started from the phone; imported Junie histories stay read-only. It doesn’t replace either product’s existing IDE-session controls.

Dashup
Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Kimi, Cline, Pi, Kilo Code and Junie in one inbox, with Zed and VS Code threads beside them. Follow existing sessions where their local interfaces allow it, or start supported agents from your phone. The agent pages spell out which sessions take replies and which stay read-only.
Conversations and commands reach Dashup’s servers as ciphertext, with the keys on your paired devices. $10 a month for Dashup Cloud, after a 14-day free trial.

Set up once. Then leave.
Run this on each computer you want on your phone, scan its code with the Dashup app, and let Dashup keep running in the background. The computer has to stay on. Dashup can’t wake it.
